About All Our RelationSHIPS
All Our RelationSHIPS is a sharing circle for Indigenous community members to discuss topics and learn practical skills to make our lives and relationships as fulfilling as possible. Community plays a vital role in this program as we learn and support each other’s mental health together. This program is co-facilitated by a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist.
Who Can Attend
This program is for Indigenous individuals and those living in Indigenous households.
All Our RelationSHIPS Cycle of Topics
Each week, we focus on a subject that sheds light on what gets in the way of living well, and you will learn practical skills to make your life and relationships as fulfilling as possible. The eight-week cycle will cover a range of topics important for personal growth and community building.
- Self-disclosure
- Self-validation
- Empathy
- Handling intense emotions
- Communicating with and validating others, especially our kids
- Boundaries and saying no
- The problems with “self-care” and “resilience”
- Living in community
Schedule:
Wednesdays: Lunch at Noon, followed by focused conversation from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
This program is flexible because we know life can be unpredictable. You do not have to attend all sessions. Call or email us about the week’s topic, and drop in as you like. We provide lunch as well as PRESTO cards.
Note: All Our RelationSHIPS is not a therapy program; some topics can trigger difficult emotions. However, we will provide you with resources and support to help you through them and to ensure someone is there for you when you need them. You will not be alone in this journey.
