Baby Bundle Project
The Baby Bundle Program is an Indigenous led program that supports First Nations, Métis and Inuit families in the Greater Toronto Area, prenatally and up to six months postpartum. This program is for people who require additional support in their lives, as detailed below.
Community Health Workers provide wrap-around support and community resources during pregnancy and up to six months postpartum. For example;
Finding a care provider; Midwife, Family Doctor, Obstetrician
Clinical advocacy and wrap-around care
Accompaniment to appointments
Meaningful community referrals
Baby Bundle Program’s Community Health Workers can provide referrals and in some situations direct support with;
Prenatal education
Limited availability for priority labour support
Postpartum support
Infant care skill share and feeding information
Applications and forms (Ex. Newborn registrations/birth certificate, newborn hearing screening)
Occasional newborn supplies (based on availability)
Access to shelter and housing support and applications
Applying/receiving OW/ODSP benefits
Food program access
Connecting with mental health supports
Referrals to harm reduction, substance use services, and safe use supply
Advocacy with people who have interaction with any Child Protection Agencies
Connecting with organizations that specialize in supporting people who experience intimate partner violence, community violence, family violence
